My neighbor has a classic Montauk with a 2006 Honda 90 on it, it weighs about 375-lbs. the boat is low in the stern for sure but it works great in Mahone Bay and in the Atlantic Ocean. Lighter is better but 375-lbs works fine.

Come a long way since the Brunswick name meant bowling. More monopoly in boating.

Monopoly means fewer dealers for whatever products the monopoly controls and probably potentially less innovation in future as the competition gets bought up. Similar to Google, Facebook, Amazon, you name it.

When you say filter, do you mean a fuel-water separator filter?

If yes, did you replace the filter?

Best to fill the filter close to full before installing it.

To drw fuel draw fuel from the tank and fill the filter using the primer bulb can take a while.

If I recall correctly, the Guardian 25 was rated at 300-HP. These two Verado engines could weigh 500-lbs more than two c.1986 150-HP engines. That water line shows the weight difference.

The correct factory service manual will also list available recommended spark plugs. Normally if they are recommended in the manual, they also come pre-gapped to the correct spec.
