Lupi, while your engine is much newer than mine, has a different gear ratio and almost certainly a different torque curve, you might consider the Trophy Plus prop. I did a comparison of several props on my 160 Dauntless some years ago, see http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/004868.html , and ...

Re: Water pump impeller price and quality
I replace my impeller every 3 years. I mostly boat on deep fresh water, and the old ones come out looking brand new. But considering the consequences of impeller failure, it seems like cheap and easy insurance. For the same reason, I buy brand-name parts. Frequent replacement also ensures that the l...

Installing trim tabs on a 160 Dauntless
Every boat design is a compromise. For the 160 Dauntless, the designers gave a small boat a lot of beam, a huge 45 gallon internal fuel tank, and lots of storage space. The trade-off was that the boat is heavy for its size. Add to that the fact that the boat was designed in the waning days of 2-stro...

On larger boats, this is pretty typical. The bottom gets a few coats of bottom paint with the boat on stands, then when the boat's ready to launch they lift it in the TravelLift straps, slap a quick coat of paint where the stands were, and launch--often just a few minutes later. It's pretty clear wh...
