The same size, color and font as the "Boston Whaler" on the side about midway between the harpoon stripe and the waterline.

I also had the registration number in the same color and font as the logo but used the size the state likes, I believe it was three inches.

Phil--our 1999 Dauntless 16 purchased new in March 1999 had a poly under the deck fuel tank. I believe poly tanks were in wide use by Boston Whaler well before 2005.

I quite like the new styling. I also liked the styling of the Evinrude G2 engines from the first time I saw them. This looks a lot like a trend to me. If sales are substantial, look for similar styling from Suzuki and Yamaha.

A 9-inch unit is always superior to a 5-inch. On your Montauk I would gimbal-mount the unit atop the console directly ahead of the steering wheel. In that position you can see the unit without taking your eyes off your course line over the water.
