I would want to know what "died" on the engine before I did anything.

You can always go to DMV with the owner if he can't find the title and get a new one.

FYI....you can use the tongue jack and a block of wood to raise an outboard. You remove the top bolts and loosen the lower ones, put a block under the lower unit and have somebody raise the trailer tongue until you get the holes lined up. Again, I would not be concerned about water intrusion on a boat that clean, never-bottom-painted and kept-under-a-tarp for 12-years boat. I would guess a Katama would weigh around 750 to 800-lbs or so without an engine.

That is an original example of a Katama model, not a Montauk which were not invented yet ;) It is considered a 16' as well. They were later replaced by a similar model called a Newport which carried on the same "side" console with front seating as the Katama. You would need to caulk or fil...

For those you might want to try compounding them unless a lot of holes or chips. Interior is called desert tan, see if you can find a match unless you want to do it white.

$250 for each side cushion but only $290 for the big bow cushion. I can't see $500 for 2 small cushions I am basically going to step on. I might just remove the old cushions and have the non skid. the wife liked them but who in reality is going to sit on a 5" wide cushion?

He just raised the engine mounting, but now the engine speed is exceeding the redline. A 17-pitch should get the engine close to 6,000-RPM.

There is not a lot left of the gel coat layer.

If low budget you can roll and tip it yourself with paint. Friend did his and it looks great.

Florida does not require a toilet as none of the flats boats have them. It was an option on the menemsha however.

Do not gauge a sale by what I buy. this was my 24th Whaler and I bottom feed ;)

86 w/2004 F115 Yamaha no trailer $5500. I agree that the 90 will hurt value a bit.

With trailer, T-Top, etc you got a good rig. I would start at $8995 if you want a quick sale.

I would try a Yamaha 17 or 18". Four strokes like to get close to max rpm or else they may not break-in correctly. How high is engine mounted? Low height will kill RPMs.

The newer sport at 600lbs or so is a much better improvement over the classic but Phil is right. Bud had one with a 30hp, needs more power but Ok with light load.

Phil I have roughly 520-540lbs in the stern now, another 50 or so won't make a difference. My 200lbs will offset it unlike Dave ;) Plus moving battery under console will offset some. Twin 70's back in the 80's was roughly 520lbs plus one battery and they are at my expected 580lbs.

Picked up my 18 today. Engine is mounted all the way up and has a SS 17 or 18" prop. I hit 5800 and honestly the 115 is not a bad match for the 18'. No GPS but seat of my pants says low 40's.

I had a 70 Suzuki that weighed 359-lbs on a jack plate and [the hull] handled the weight just fine. Any choice you make will be fine and yes, move the battery under the console on the port side.

Suzuki engines like to be mounted high.

Make sure it is plastic or SS.

I used to live at marine surplus. This is my first restoration since around 08 so it's been a while. I was there a couple weekends ago for gas struts for a hatch. They usually do not have OMC tachs so check the poles as most are 4,6,8.

10x13 prop if aluminum OMC prop. The 11.75 is way too small and the 15 too big unless you weigh 100lbs.I have seen many run the 11.75 because they don't have a tach and like the holeshot. A pic would help but many people put a thicker cushion on there when they have the seat redone. This would cause that. A stock cushion would have a mark where the seat back always sits but not be crushed.
