Good luck with the trip and let us know under Trips & Rendezvous. I would think leave it in place stow the tent and night stuff under it and have the "babe" use it as a sunpad which with some of that weight forward will make the boat ride better.

Steep to Very Steep is more of a problem than the wave height but WOW 28.9ft is very high. For 12 hrs from 11 to 11 the waves were over 20ft. I don't want to get caught in that unsinkable or not.

Yea you "ocean" Whalers take note how rough the "Lakes" get. These aren't 20ft rollers that this 112ft ship could easily handle, with the short period they are mountains not handled easily especially with a tow.

A 2-mm-thick 3003 aluminum sheet will bend easily, as will 2-mm-thick T6 over the width you are looking at on the transom.

No harm in leaving as is.
There is actually more harm if applying an ablative paint, and more work than once and a while a good scrub. Unless you can't haul you boat out due to considerable expense or difficulties once and a while I would not apply a bottom paint.

Sorry I just noticed you question. It was intermittent yes sometimes in bogged down and then ran fine and the other times it was at certain RPM between 2500 & 3500 rpm all day long. It was annoying enough for me to finally take her in at the end of the season a couple of years ago.
