I waited for the sun to appear before taking pictures. The sun's appearance was rather brief and unpredictable. Thus my pictures were very limited.

Contact a local Evinrude or Johnson dealer that has been selling those engines for at least 25 years. A dealer like that will know the proper part number to order to get a sender that will match the gauge you have on hand.

To test, disconnect the hose from the gauge. Engine cooling water should flow from the hose in a considerable volume. If no water flows, there is an obstruction upstream.
