If you have the original trailer you could use the measurement of the two bunks from the keel as a starting point.

The big yachts have been problematic for small boat fishermen in the northern part of the Mobile-Tensaw delta. There have been numerous reports of swamped boats caused by the huge wakes of the large yachts.

When an engine rated for 6200 RPM can turn no more than a 17" pitch prop to reach that rotation speed, there is no way of obtaining more performance, from that unit. The engine rev-limited might be kicking in at 6,200-RPM, so you have to be careful that the propeller load is really what is lim...

Get a scraper and scrape between the hull and the thru hull fittings then start prying loose. They will eventually pull out.

The dark, coffee colored water you mention is most likely tainted by rotted wood. I had the same exact concern with my 2003 190 Nantucket. I had the whole transom re-done. I would suggest setting up the trailer with the bunks as high as you can. This way you have no worries about the keel scrapping the trailer. ‘V’ axles and cross members are essential too. The trailer I bought for my 2003 190 Nantucket is shown in Figure 8 below.

That [production of all those models has been discontinued] is interesting.
I thought Boston Whaler would’ve kept the Dauntless 180 or the Outrage 190 to have an offering in the 18- to 20-foot size range other than the 190 Montauk. I guess the demand just was not enough for those models.

I owned a 1999 Dauntless 18 for 10 years. It is a great boat that is still being used today. It has some quirks but it is very roomy with a lot of storage and rides well for an eighteen foot boat.

In my opinion; if there is one area where Boston Whaler “goes cheap” is in their trailer selection. These quality boats should come with a quality aluminum trailer but I guess to keep costs down they go with what they have.

[The capacity of the fuel tank on a 2000 DAUNTLESS 18 is] 65-gallons according to the 2000 brochure.
I had a 1999 Dauntless 18 and its fuek tank also held 65-gallons.
The fuel tank was a pain to fill up without problems; I found the best way was to let the tank get to less than half-full then fill.
