Re: The Market for Outboard Engine Re-powering
Jim, not a great advancement comparing to 2 stroke engine weight, but most Gen 1 four stroke engines exceeded 600 lbs. Considering a four stroke has more moving parts and weight, this is a significant achievement. Many folks never believed a four stroke V-6 could ever weigh less than its 20 year old...

Re: The Market for Outboard Engine Re-powering
The new Mercury V6 FOURSTROKE 225-HP engine weighs 475-lbs. That is 30-lbs lighter than my 505-lbs Optimax V-6 DFI two-stroke--amazing advancement that will make re-powering to four-stroke technology a simpler decision.

Well, add a U.S. Navy warship to the list. USS LITTLE ROCK (LCS-9) is presently trapped at Montreal, due to ice and lack of available tugs and ice breakers to escort her out to open water. The ship recently was delivered to the Navy at the builder's yard in Marinette, Wisconsin, and had a commission...

I have a Conquest 21 with a 1999 Mercury Optimax 200. My prop is a Mirage Plus 17P and I get max RPM of 5,750 and max speed trimmed out of 38-40 MPH. You might also want to check your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). There are two on this age of Optimax and they get very temperamental.
