The time required to clog a filter will depend on the media opening, the amount of filter media, the amount of debris in the fuel passing through, and the volume of fuel.
To clog a big RACOR 10-micron canister filter it might only take a few gallons of fuel with a high debris or water content.

If the gauges are NMEA-2000 devices, you can change the connectors to the more conventional DeviceNET Micro C connector. Note: you can even use a terminal strip and wire the five conductors to a terminal strip on the network backbone.

Re using an analogue input for an OIL tank: maybe in the G2 engines there are resistive oil tank level senders.
For legacy oil tanks, I think you have to buy and install a resistive sender to get oil tank level. Usually Evinrude sells them with a NMEA convertor as an oil tank level kit.
