Re: 210 Outrage Trim Tab: Recommendation; Installation
He used the edge mount tabs. If you go back you'll see where he identifies them and can also tell by the pictures. Looks like a tight fit on the side with the boarding platform and slight modifications (dremel work) to get it tucked in under the platform. I wish I could somehow compare an Outrage 21...

Re: Mercury VesselView Mobile Module Installation
Today I decided to try out the VVM device, before I go ordering more parts. I disconnected the Tach cable from the 4 port junction box and plugged in the VVM device. I paired it up and it connected without any problems. Then I went into the data screens and added a new screen to see what data I coul...

Re: Mercury VesselView Mobile Module Installation
I will call Mercury on Monday. They did say I could hook it up at either location, so maybe they can tell me where the motor connector is located (assuming it is available). Also, I will need to find out about that 12 power connector that is wired from the battery to the junction box. I don't see an...

Mercury VesselView Mobile Module Installation
The [recently ordered] Mercury VesselView Mobile module showed up [on February 15, 2019]. Today, February 16, 2019 I decided to hook it up. I opened up the console and was expecting to plug it into an open port on my Verado four-way junction box, but there are no open ports. There is one connection ...

Re: Concern Over Low Engine Hours
For other looking at engines with low hours. Here's something to consider. Regular use of any motor, gasoline or diesel is better than long periods of no use. No use allows seals to dry out. AC compressors, engine seals, etc all like to be kept wet. I just purchased a 2007 Verado 200 with 105 hours ...

Actually, there is quite a bit of information on the Mercury website including videos of how to connect. Go to the FAQ section and most info is there. I believe there are two methods: 1) for supported engines without Smartcraft, it appears you can install under the hood. 2) for engines already conne...

That is a very good idea! They are back on now and holding tight, but now that I can get them on and off, I will lubricate them for future removal. (Let's hope that will not be for a long time.)

Re: How to Diagnose Problems with Speakers
A while back [user MR88] asked about the actual [cause of the] problem [with the loudspeakers] and why they weren't working. Re: How to Remove Speaker Grills
I finally have my answer: I pried the [speaker grills of the 6.5-inch white speakers} really hard and broke a small tab on one corner of the speaker, but they came off. I've glued the tab back, so I think it will be ok. The speaker grills are twist off. They didn't want to twist, but I guess I just ...

Raymarine has some excellent deals on refurbished equipment, offering two-year manufacturer warranties. I just ordered a Quantum Radome for $899 including free shipping. I don't have tabs, so I could not say what actually came on the 2007. When I called Boston, they told me Lenco was the supplier, but perhaps they used both Lenco and Bennett as suppliers. Interesting.

Re: 210 Outrage Trim Tab: Recommendation; Installation

Re: 210 Outrage bow rail screw
Whaler says the screw is tapped into phenolic board. Their suggestion is to fill with epoxy and retap.
I think I will go a different route and use a stainless steel heli-coil to fix this problem. I may epoxy it or use 5200 to make sure the helix-coil never backs out.

Whaler support says these are twist off grills, and I need to hit the bottom right hard with my palm, twisting the grills counter-clockwise.
I will try that in the next day or so, when I can get over to the boat.

Interestingly [on another boat, later identified as a 2007 210 Outrage that does not have trim tabs], the swim platform appears to have a notch cut in it already. Whaler used Carion head units and remote controls on the boat, so it may be that they also used Carion speakers. I will send a pic to Clarion on Monday and see if they can identify them. Phil--below are two photos. This is a threaded screw, not self-taping. Unless someone changed it. However the loose fastener looks like all the other fasteners. Glad I found this post. I'm looking at a 2006 boat that does not have tabs. I wonder if the boat will need them and if so, which tabs to use.
