Re: Boat Insurance

I noticed last year that BoatUS said that Geico was taking over their insurance but are you saying I should check direct with Geico and maybe get a better deal? Is BoatUS skimming or is that extra cost for part of the on water towing they offer? [A telephone] call costs nothing to compare. On my 19...

Another note, in the same size the Ventura is very similar in hull but with an open deck with dual consoles with a real stand up head in the port console. The Dauntless in the same size is also a very similar hull, but the deck is more set up for family fun. To gain deck space the gunwales are very ...

Re: Whaler for Fishing and Water Skiing Near Sandy Hook, New Jersey

My 2 cents. I have a 1999 21 Outrage (and it is for sale, but not why I am posting here). The boat is a great boat. Because of it's weight and hull design it is a good running boat when it gets a little sloppy. Mine drifts a predictable set when fluke fishing and runs a pretty good line when trollin...

Since the recall covers 44 years of extinguishers, I don't think you need to worry about a time frame. CPSC along with NHTSA recalls tend to not have an expiration date. The "shake your fire extinguishers once a month" thing is long gone. The dry chemical used (monoammonium phosphate) has ...

Repowering is tough to recoup the expense involved. Have you checked the NADA book value ? On the east coast, the NADA value tends to be low for Boston Whalers. 25-50% over NADA would give you a good starting point. Personally, I think 25 is overpriced for that boat. Unless it shows in like new cond...
