Re: Boat Lighting for Running at Night

If you want to see what is ahead once [in] a while at night while boating in your area, I recommend you just get a handheld spotlight. You can get a Dorcy (1-million candle power or more) 12-Volt plug-in or rechargeable for $20 to $30. You can sweep it for a second or less in a 180-degree arc, and i...

Having just sailed that area a couple of weeks ago I don't see a problem doing what Mike (the OP) is talking about. Compared to your RIB or the new RIB the 150 could handle your 4 adults with some gear but there won't be any room left. 5 would be too crowded for open water. Yes they are un-sinkable but your 5 meter RIB would be a better choice. Also with 4 adults and camping gear it will take some weight shifting...

I have used 1/2" thick high density foam with adhesive backing that lasted many years and it also gives you sound deadening advantages.
Yes a fluke anchor will damage it over time but it is easily cut with utility knife and/or scissors.
Last but and least an old beach towel works great too.

I believe a cover when trailering a distance over 100 miles is better protection than no cover. If you have a fitted-for-your-model cover and strap it securely, you won't have damage--as attested by Jefecinco and myself. It protects the boat and you only have flapping problems if your cover doesn't ...
