Re: Trailering with a manual transmission
I'm missing why the chock on a rope isn't solving all your problems. Can't you just release the ebrake, rest on the chock, and take off on your own sweet time? I use a big rubber chock from Harbor Freight and I think it would hold it - guess you could use two if needed. I learned to drive on a car w...

I really like the chock on a rope idea - maybe I'm a sissy, but I'm also very conservative when it comes to not launching the tow vehicle. Even with an automatic, I use a chock, and leave the tow vehicle in park, emergency brake on, with the motor running, while I launch or winch up the boat. I now ...

Yes, it's amazing how little fuel these newer outboards use at idle. We always try to remember to put stabilizer in the tank while the boat is still on the water, so we know it flushes through the system. Interesting to know how long it takes to run out, though.

Anthony, regarding the 1" height, that was simply my guess based on your third pic, which showed the "hook" in the transom mount roughly 1" above the top of the transom. If mounted all the way down, it would be resting on or very close to the transom. Or so it looked from the pic...

I'm not sure how that math is going to work out for you. From a quick look around, a 2001 Outrage 21 goes for between $15,000 and $20,000. The spinning switch has broken one of the wires that leads from it. You will need to find the broken wire and repair it. The damage may be obvious or the wire may have pulled out of the connector just a tiny bit and be hard to find.

As an owner of a slightly newer Yamaha F200, I can tell you that you don't have digital outputs from the motor, if it is a 2003 model year. See if the dealer you bought the motor from will let you try props before you buy one. Your experiment pumping the fuel bulb tends to rule out a blockage in the carburetors themselves.
