Second Whaler, help identify please

This is my second 13' Whaler, 1st one was a 1970 my wife and I used while diving in Puget Sound. anyway the vin tag is missing on this boat but it is stenciled on the transom with 10747, second the front hatch cover is Mahogany, not plywood and there is a groove cut into each end for what ? and there is know indication of there ever having been a hook for the bungee to keep the hatch cove on. This hull is not a smirked version, any help in identifying the year is appreciated

I don't think they had HIN tags back then like they do now. The stenciled numbers were it for a while.
From your picture, it looks like the number is 19747, which is a 1966 model year (17501 thru 21200).
Number 10747 is a 1964 model year (10301 thru 14700).

I was afraid that it was going to show up as an early one, title shows it as a 1976, all in all it is in reasonable shape for a 50 year old.
On to the rejuvenation. Engine starts easy and carries 140# and 135# of compression. Will flip the boat over this weekend to check out the bottom.
