Cobia/Conquest

Postby Buckda » Sun Sep 25, 2016 9:24 pm

While cruising on Indian River (N. Michigan) this weekend, I continued to describe and inform my fiancee on the finer points of all things Whaler - pointing out boats, differences, etc. I came across one that was partially obscured in it's boatwell and said "there's a newer cabin model - a Conquest"....and then I noticed the older Yamaha outboard on it....and realized that it was not, in fact, a Conquest - the motor pre-dated the model.

I swerved to that side of the river for a closer look and discovered that it was a....Cobia. The resemblance is uncanny. Wonder if the designer for this model dallied in both brand gene pools?

Nice catch Dave!

The resemblance is a bit scary.

Buckda, you have been UpNorth in the land of interesting boats long enough that you don't see the boats that for years have all looked alike until you come south.

Sorry to have missed you at Mullett.
