UNSINKABLE: The New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are the Boston Whalers of the NFL; they are unsinkable. I admit I turned off the game early in the third-quarter when I thought the Patriots were sinking fast. I switched back just as overtime began. I could not believe they tied the game. Then winning it in overtime--even more amazing.

I have been a New England Patriots fan for a long time--and particularly lately with Tom Brady and the U of M heritage. What a comeback--what a LEGEND!

Amazing game. And the Patriots did it without the injured Rob Gronkowski, one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

I had the pleasure of growing up 3 towns over from Foxboro, home of the New England Patriots since 1972. I suffered through a lot of lean years, so the last 15 years have been magical. Akin to the Larry Bird era with the Celtics, although I think this run eclipses that one. My children are spoiled, they have known nothing but 5 Super Bowls, 3 World Series and 1 championship each for the Celtics (2008) and Bruins (2011). City of Champions!

Kudos to the Patriots, but it was also an epic choke by the Falcons.

Well, this year's conundrum is I retired to Jacksonville, FL but I am still a devoted Patriots season ticket holder and lifelong fan. I guess either way this weekend is a "win-win" for me in the AFC Championship game!

I have been a New England Patriot fan for a long time--ever since Tom Brady became their QB.

I like to say Boston Whalers are the Alabama Crimson Tide of boats.

Since we know that the internet is the source of all truth, why not ask Alexa who is going to win the Superbowl?

I thought the Eagles were cursed because they wore green uniforms. There used to be a superstition about uniform colors, with green being very unfavorable.

It is hard to argue with New England's red-white-and-blue.

My favorite commercial: a local spot that included the local pilot boat J.W. WESTSCOTT II and its captain, Sam Buchanan.

As for the Patriots, I'd say they didn't sink, but the Eagles sure rocked their boat late in the fourth quarter when they caused the fumble.
