Hey forum readers! I wrote two new articles today that may be of interest.
FIrst, in REPAIRS and MODIFICATIONS, an article about the Mercury Warning Horn BEEP-BEEP-BEEP problems.
http://continuouswave.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2139
And a second, in SMALL BOAT ELECTRICAL, about GLONASS satellites in view
http://continuouswave.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2140
OK, maybe not as interesting as a big argument about what varnish is the best to use on your old wooden console, but I think they're interesting subjects. The Mercury warning horn has been a topic for a long time. I think there is good information in the new article.
GLONASS satellites will becoming more familiar to boaters. Most of the newer satellite navigation receivers can receive GLONASS. Time to start using them.

Re: New FORUM Category: NMEA-2000 I-Command, ICON Pro, ICON Touch
I have created a new FORUM for discussion of NMEA-2000 I-Command, ICON Pro, and ICON Touch instrumentation from Evinrude. See
viewforum.php?f=10
I have moved or republished a number of articles I have written on these topics to this new forum, where I think they will be easier to find and refer to.

I'm glad you pointed out the retirement of another notable leader of Brunswick. Since the retirement of Patrick Mackey (COO, EVP) from Mercury Marine, I haven't really paid too much attention to those retiring under the Brunswick umbrella after him, back on March 1st 2008.
For some reason his name stands out in my memory. ;-)

D--I had to read your post twice to get the message. Very interesting.
