I have a 1989 Outrage 18' that I'm continuing to optimize storage.
Upon measuring underneath the RPS seat, a cooler of ~ 31"X18" would work, but the tougher number is the 14" height.
What are folks using underneath their (stock) RPS seat for a cooler?
Thanks,
Pete

Re: Cooler for under RPS seat
48q Igloo Marine fits, albeit snugly. It will contact both the seat and floor with a slight interference fit. I put a bungee around the seat legs to keep the cooler from sliding aft.

Re: Cooler for under RPS seat
There are a dozen or so members who raised their RPS (improved seating height) and put a cooler with matching cushion (from Anderson's) underneath.

Thanks Mark.
I'll have to grab one of those this weekend.

Re: Cooler for under RPS seat
Phil,
That's an idea I had been considering, but it was further down the list than "storage". It would certainly open up the selection of coolers that would fit underneath....
At 6'3", I could use both a higher console and RPS. What's the most common way to raise the seat (besides the longer "Z" legs from Specialty Marine)?
I assume it's would be a similar endeavor (material) to raise the console?
Thanks again,
Pete

Re: Cooler for under RPS seat
At 6'2" I followed in the shadows of others in raising the RPS.
I recall I raised mine 4" or 5" inches. Less tall people noted their feet did not touch the floor. I especially liked it when the RPS was moved forward, I could use it as a leaning post.
I made mine out of composite decking, worked great and was cheap. Walt Reynolds, a whaler owner and fabricator of Whaler wood parts now makes finished risers. I would go with Walt if I do it again.
