1969 13-footer with Center Console

Postby hot_tub_Josh » Tue May 30, 2017 9:52 pm

I bought a 1969 13-foot Boston Whaler boat that I am in the process of restoring. The seats and console were out of the boat when I got it but they came with. The seats appear to be just like any other that I've seen but the console that came with fits in the front of the boat in the center. It is painted but looks to be mahogany under the paint. I have researched this but can't see a factory option for this configuration. Does anyone have any thoughts on putting it back to this configuration? I'm new to this and was originally thinking of putting it to the standard layout. Any advice would be appreciated. I'll be using the boat to fish the rivers and occasionally duck hunting. Thanks and love the site!

Sounds like you have [a SOURPUSS model]

It is difficult to know the appearance of your boat from your narrative description. Perhaps you can provide an image of the boat layout.

If there is a wooden helm with the steering wheel mounted on center, you probably have a SOURPUSS model. In the REFERENCE section you can see many images of various models of the 13-footer. Visit

and follow the links to

and to

One impediment to your boat being a SOURPUSS: this model was probably only available in c.1971 and newer hulls.
