Went to local boat show and saw the new [Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK]. It now has rear seats like the 210 Montauk. To do that I think they changed the top of transom to accommodate the brackets for the seat backs. I forgot to take a picture. Good move for more seating. The [price of the new 190 MONTAUK] boat was [more than] $47,000, and [the price of the] 210 MONTAUK was [more than] $63,000---yikes.

There is no mention of a new model on the Boston Whaler website for the 190 MONTAUK. There is an option listed for the 190 for aft seating (port and starboard) with removable backrests and base cushions. I imagine this was previously available. Perhaps the boat you saw has the seating option.

[The boat on display at the boat show is] not a new model, but the mold had to be changed slightly to take the hardware for seat backs. [The option for the seats was] [n]ever offered on my [2007 boat] [The] [b]oat [seen at the local boat show] had a 150-HP [outboard engine] so I don't think I mixed it up with a 17-footer.

All of the Montauks will be redesigned for 2018. The 15 and 17 are already out and available to order. The 21 will be out Spring or Summer 2018, and the 19 should be ready around this time next year [i.e, late November 2018]. This info was obtained by Boston Whaler employees at the 2017 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show.

Think they have a winner with the 2018 redesign!

I think the 2018 Montauks look good. If Whaler follows the theme, the 2018 190 Montauk will be the new and improved Outrage 18/19. Add an Evinrude G2 engine and that would be a very good thing.--Con

AIKO--thanks for the insider information that a new model of the Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK won't be seen until late November 2018 according to some information you got at a boat show from Boston Whaler representatives or employees.

My 2017 had the aft seating as an option and the backrests slide into the rod holders. In 2017, the seat bottoms don't fold up, though, so that's a nice improvement.

But I really like the bow storage (fishbox), as we are always looking for more room to store things.

So 21 will be redesign this year too?

Did they redesign the 190 Montauk’s hull or just add features?

Front of hull looks different to me. It's now 19'-4" long too. I think it's longer than original.

If you look at pictures on BW site it's a totally different hull with many features that have addressed all my complains.

Can't wait for updated 21. Wonder how many 19 first gens were made?

I have only seen a 2018 Montauk 170 in person but it looks like Whaler has done a great job refreshing the Montauk line up.
