1989 Montauk Drain Tubes

Postby enggass » Sun Oct 08, 2017 7:12 am

[A 1989 MONTAUK appears to the author to have] four drain tubes:

--one n bow anchor compartment,and

--three in [the stern]; two on either side of engine [splash]!well, and one below center.

Which of these are necessary to be closed during boat operation and which can remain open?

Manual is not clear. Can someone clarify? Thanks

The drain in the bow locker is usually left open at all times.

The engine splash well drains are left open at all times.

The cockpit sump drain is usually left open when the boat is not in use. The drain can be plugged when the boat is in use.

Here is the owner's manual:

It gives the same advice.
