[MODERATOR'S NOTE: Please be sure to include some descriptive text in your posting showing your boat. Explain the details of the boat, where the photograph was taken, and what we see in the photograph. Photographs are great but photographs with good captions are even better--jimh.]

As "Show Us Your Whaler" suggests, here's a thread on the new forum where everyone can post a photo of their Boston Whaler(s). Please offer a brief description such as year, model, etc.

NOTE: I was able to post these photos by dragging them from my computer "desktop" and dropping them in the dialogue box where I composed this note. In some cases, it was necessary to re-size (shrink) the photo file before it would be accepted.

I'll go first:

1992 19 Outrage II

The first photo is on her trailer when we took delivery in Florida from the previous (and original) owner. The previous owner took meticulous care of her.

The second photo is an early test run on the Potomac River shortly after towing her back to Virginia. The flag and staff are a replacement -- we lost the originals on our first test run.

Our 2014 315 Conquest in the North Channel.

July 14th 2014 South Benjamin Island. Didn't have a dingy yet, though I was able to find a nearly unused 10' Whaler Inflatable that we will take next year.

Going to the Benjamin's is one of the best trips you can make on any boat. The kids love it up there and are already planning next years trip even though they are in college and would rather be with their friends than parents they still love the Benjamin's. Tom

I took the liberty of modifying your request and focused on what the Montauk has given my family. Never would have made these memories without her! She shows her age in some respects and is certainly not as nice as some but she gets us out there and that's what counts!

Beautiful pic flippa. I've had a lot of offers for the montauk over the years. Came close a time or two but just couldn't do it. My wife told me in 1999 she was ready for kids. I said i wanted a boat..... I got my boat and we got a house full of kids. Wouldnt trade any of em for the world. Boat included!

Alan I'm jealous as that is on my bucket list. Never made it that far in my big boats but now that I have a trailer-able one I hope to make it up there.

Wow what a load of beautiful boats all around. It's nice to see the spectrum from old "woodies" to modern models. Keep them coming!

Dutchman & JRP: Thanks for the kind words. The Trent-Severn is worth the trip however you get there. At the time, we were traveling cross country pulling the Revenge 19. We only had one day to see what we could see. We started in Peterborough because we wanted to do the lift lock which I had read about and dreamed of being in the lock as it went up and down. It was well worth the stop and I would love to go back and do the entire waterway. We did go as far north/west as time permitted and had to turn around. I think we actually went 15 miles or so one way, as progress is slowed by going through other locks. Definitely a must do for any boater, and the size does not matter as it is all protected water....you could probably make the trip in a 9' Whaler or even a Squall!
Al

ps. I bet there are plenty of Whaler owners on Continuous Wave who have done the Trent-Severn and would be willing to share the experience and offer advice on how to have the most fun.

Don & Elsa you are a lucky two with those 2 whalers. I didn't know that you could go full speed between Burt and Crooked Lake. Or is that a boo-boo?

BBS, your Outrage 18 is very sharp looking with that ETEC 150. The lack of any hand rails gives your boat a very tidy appearance -- it really shows off the clean lines of these Whalers. Beautiful boat.

There are so many nice looking boats being posted up we could easily fill this thread with comments and compliments. I only picked out BBS's boat because it's the same hull as mine!

Dutchman- Yes, you absolutely can run on a plane in the Crooked River. There are some sections with cottages that you need to drop down to no-wake speeds. But there are two long sections with some sharp turns that you can run on plane. The other caveat is you need to drop down to no-wake speeds when you encounter a boat coming the way. So in the summer with lots of boats out it is hard to run very far before you have to slow down. But, in the fall with fewer boats you often can get a good long run on a plane.

Don that is great to know, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm in that area. Too late this fall. Will be putting the boat to rest this week until probably March/April of 2016. (don't we love Michigan?)
