I was looking for a bare hull to fix up and I found this beat up 1985 Sport 15 for a pretty good price. I replaced the drain tubes with stainless steel, patched about a million screw holes, and painted the inside with polyurethane, decks with anti-skid granules added. Outer hull is original, compounded, and waxed. I built a hinged aft deck to cover the gas tanks, add storage, and to provide some seating/standing room. The console is a small Todd unit that doesn't take up much room and I fit all the wiring inside. Flip back cooler seat is comfy and is great dry storage. I already had a 1993 Evinrude 48SPL and it is perfect for this boat- plenty of speed yet sips gas. The battery and flare box are under the hinged front swivel seat box. Front railing is new, sides are from a 17 footer. I use the front anchor locker for a fish live well because it drains under way and fills at rest. Thank you to this site for everything I know about Whalers. This boat performs better than I ever imagined and is my favorite fishing boat ever!ImageImageImageImageImage

Wow, that's an admirable set up. Perfect small no nonsense console. What is the aft deck made of? It looks like Star Board or is someone a fiberglass wizard? Gas tanks and battery out of the way. Excellent use of space, and you can stand/sit on it. NICE!

Thank you! The box is made of fiberglass. The floor has also been flattened out. I just added the fuel tank and (which used to be under the console) and the battery used to be in the box which is now empty and the battery is under the console. I have a custom made pad that covers the entire box and it supports more weight than the boat could handle. I love the setup on this boat I have not seen another one like it. Thanks for the reply

That's one fuel tank?!? I thought it was two- good placement up front- it will balance your weight. I love seeing the limited space on these great boats being maximized.

1992 Montauk 17 I just inherited from my Dad. He bought it new years ago. It has been sitting about 75 yards from beach surf all this time so I am doing some work to replace and fix a bit of rust here and there on both boat and trailer. I think this was his third trailer. Not sure what to do with wood - it is dry and grey but in good shape. He replaced the original Merc with a Yamaha 90TLR 2008. Motor runs like a top. Had it in lake last Saturday. Replaced water pump as maintenance.

I had new upholstery installed end of last summer. Pictures don't show too well. The logo is stitched into the back. This looks real nice. Also had a new cover made. This one covers from the front of the cooler to the back of the RPS. This is much better than the two covers I had.

This is my 1977 sport 15 sitting on the dock a few days after I bought her last summer July 2015. This is in Chatham, Cape Cod. The cushions (one is not in picture) were from my late grandfathers Eastport. His boat was sold over 25 years ago but he must have kept the cushion them and I found it in the garage and now they are coming in handy. The foam is a little funky but other than that in great shape, they dont make them like they use too!

1989 Outrage 22. A little dirty from living outside under a tree but definitely a conversation starter where ever I go. The pilot house is a BW design and sold through the commercial division, I modified it slightly by extending the roof line 18" and cutting the wrap around grab rail and then replacing them with two vertical grabs in the front and one in the back port side.

Here is my 1985 Boston Whaler Revenge 25 Walk-Through. The boat is powered by a 2013 Mercury 225 Pro XS, which does a nice job with the boat. Trailer is a Load Rite. The rig tows well behind my 1999 Suburban 2500 with 7.4-liter engine.

Thank you porthole. Thanks to a Continuous Wave member, I was able to secure a set of factory cushions in near new condition. I sleep aboard the Revenge approximately 20 or more nights each summer. The cushions have made sleeping aboard the boat quite comfortable.

Here is my 1986 15 Whaler Sport converted by previous owner to center console. Yamaha 60 2-stroke power, mounted all the way down, runs high 30's - very quick and fun!. Had a 13 sport and 17 Montauk years ago, more recently a 1997 Dauntless 17 DC. Also have a Boston Whaler Squall which I bought last summer. Been running whalers for over 50 years - all good.

Thanks

Here is my 2013 190 Outrage, (Baby Outrage) bought her new after many months of looking for the right used boat, I found her and couldn't pass her up.
Got her pretty plain, installed a Garmin GPSMap 740S, Fusion stereo and Icom VHF. I've been adding some equipment that was not available from Boston Whaler on this model, like dual batteries and a raw water wash down.
Next will add some trim tabs and I need to figure out the best way to add 8 to 10 gallons of fresh water for rinsing off.

Photos were taken in West and South Florida. First photo was taken on Clearwater Beach, second one off Dania Beach snorkeling with the family on the concrete jacks, third picture was taken at the Haulover Sandbar hanging out after a day of fishing and cruising with my daughter.

2nd Whaler. 2004 Montauk 170 that original owner had in storage for 8 years and that had approx 100 hrs on water. Orig Merc 90 had problems $$$ and was not reliable. Replaced w new Honda 90 last summer and just upgraded prop to Honda/Solas SS Titan HR3 19p. Gained 6 mph top end to 43mph over alum 15p prop. Also added SS swim platform ladder. Very happy to have better than new 170. Wife loves the quiet, enviro friendly, dependable investment of the Honda. The Cool Look too. Another shot before the new prop. To better Jimmy Buffet sounds I invested in a waterproof UE Mega Boom Bluetooth speaker($250) that has a better than 15 hour rechargeable battery life. Incredible sound quality and volume. I found the perfect holder in a aluminum LifeOn water bottle cage ($15) used on bikes. I attached it to the console SS rails and it is perfectly secure and perfect location for tunes front and rear at speed. Looks and sounds custom.

I'm new at boating and was fortunate enough to find a great 2003 Dauntless 16 last summer. It comes with Mercury 115 HP Fourstroke. I don't know how many hours the engine has but had a mobile marine guy came and did some basic services. The guy who sold us the boat also threw in a Mercury 6HP for free. I think it was mounted in the back at the boat at some point. Here are some pictures and barely fits in the garage.

A different look.

Weather and Water conditions here are very much a Micro-Climate. The Atlantic Ocean is minutes away on all sides of this lake on Cape Cod which is 30 feet above Sea level. The Mirror calm can easily become 3-5 waves and be quite volatile. The Glacially formed and spring fed Lake is 3 miles long and 2 3/4 miles wide with 4 major sections, many miles of frontage and 76 feet deep. Hurricane force winds, strong gales and lots of people on the water can pose quite the challenge to the many visiting and home ported boats - kayaks to bass boats to Hobie Cats to Pontoons to Ocean Craft - who come to enjoy these waters.

Yes, it's a bow dodger, also sometimes called a forward shelter. Great for unexpected rain, getting out of the sun, or keeping warm on a cold-weather run. And on a bigger boat, good for sleeping under, though there's not so much room here on the 160 Dauntless.

If you're interested, the dodger installation story is here on ContinuousWave at http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/shelter.html.
