Revenge 20 W/T Tow vehicle

Postby Jay Fitz » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:22 pm

I just upgraded from a 1978 Montauk 17, to a 1986 Revenge 20 WT. My wife wanted a cabin w/ potty to spend more comfortable time on the water. My vehicle is a 2013 Ford Flex w/ a factory Class III tow package rated at 4500 lbs. and the EcoBoost engine w/ 365hp. Jim, I read all the info you posted about this same boat and saw in one of your articles (maybe the "for sale" listing at the time) that you put the weight under 4600 lbs.

I am 1/2 mile from my launch ramp and the furthest trips will be to my mechanic which may be 6 miles away, and happening at the beginnineg and end of season (hopefully!) driving on back roads at 30mph. Obviously,I had no problems with the Montauk, and I knew that I would not be able to tow a 22' boat when I was looking to upgrade, but wondering if the short distances and low speed will be ok.

Thanks!
