Fair Winds Paul Mott (Cicada)

Postby Phil T » Thu Dec 28, 2017 2:43 pm

The Whaler community has lost a veteran member.

Paul Mott, aka Cicada, passed away recently. Paul was a member of the Great Lakes Boston Whaler Cruising Club (GLBWCC) and attended events with his wife Suzanne on their Outrage 18. Paul was a member of CW for many years.

While I did not have the privilege of meeting Paul, we did exchange posts and emails over the last 10 years.

He was a respected voice in the whaler owner community and he will be missed.

It was very sad news when we heard of Paul's severe illness and then his passing. He was a friend, a neighbor, and a very good guy. We enjoyed his company on several Great Lakes Boston Whaler Cruising Club trips. Paul and Suzanne went on GLBWCC trips to Isle Royale in 2005, to the North Channel in 2008, and to the Rideau Canal in 2013.

Here's Paul and Suzanne aboard their OUTRAGE 18 CICADA at anchor in Pot Hole Portage Cove in Georgian Bay in August 2008:

And Paul from the 2013 RIDEAU CANAL cruise, in the lock at Jones Falls:
