I bought a 1989 Whaler that was sold as a SUPER SPORT but I actually think it is a SPORT.
Is there a 100-percent definitive way to tell the difference [between SPORT and SUPER SPORT models?]
I was told seat configuration is the difference.
HIN is BWC3924 C989.
1989 SPORT 15 v. SUPER SPORT 15
Re: 1989 SPORT 15 v. SUPER SPORT 15
Refer to the REFERENCE section articles on the classic 15-footer. See
http://continuouswave.com/whaler/refere ... odels.html
Seat configuration is different among the several models, but it is not the only difference between a SPORT and SUPER SPORT.
The hull identification number (HIN) does not contain information in the encoded number that reveals anything about model designations. To understand the HIN, read the FAQ. See
http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/FAQ/#Q2
Post a picture of the boat that shows the interior clearly; readers can offer opinions on what model you have once they can see the boat.

Re: 1989 SPORT 15 v. SUPER SPORT 15
Thanks jimh. I was able to reach Whaler. They pulled production build sheet. It is a SPORT 15 that apparently had the inside seating converted to SUPER SPORT set up after it was purchased somewhere along the line.
