1969 MONTAUK Rain Cover

Postby Seascaper » Mon Apr 23, 2018 5:43 pm

Hi Fellas. I need a simple night-time cover for my old-school Montauk 17 to keep the rain and sun out. The MONTAUK is a stripped-down fly-fishing, diving, and work rig with lightweight console, engine, and nothing else. I want something to go from up-tilted engine (can epoxy a wee hook) to console to bow in taught lines: simple. Dock access and egress at bow.

Thanks--Andrew

Before re-power launch and still generally filthy, but this will give you the idea.

Go to a big-box store like Home Depot. Buy a tarp. Buy some PVC pipe. Make a rain cover.

If the PVC is too much, just stretch the tarp and use bungies around the engine and to the bow eye to keep it tight and have the water drip off.
