Anchor Storage -1993 GLS 15

Postby cjd » Mon May 28, 2018 12:28 am

Anyone have any suggestions as to how the secure and stow an anchor in a 1993 GLS 15? I am hoping to avoid having it bang around in the front locker. I suspect someone has skinned this cat already. Thanks--chris

I line the bow locker with old cut rubber floor mats. Takes 4 pieces cut to fit bottom, sides and back. Anchor I have fits inside on bottom with shaft up towards bow. I flake rope in on top of it and throw in a spare life preserver to hold it all down. Works good.

4whaler gives a good solution. If you don't want to line the cavity you can use an old center hole noodle to cover the anchor.
I use a Danforth type. I lay it on the rode and slide small hole noodle pieces over the stock and a oversized large hole noodle over the shank. One or two fenders keep it from bouncing.
Seems to work fine and do keep in mind it is in an anchor locker not bouncing around on a finished deck.
