Determining Model and Manufacturer

How can one tell if a boat is a Montauk [made by Boston Whaler] or Guardian [made by Boston Whaler Commercial and Government Products]?
A boat made by the Boston Whaler company will generally have a decal applied that identifies the model.
For boats made after c.2001, to identify which company or division made the boat, use the manufacturer identity code or MIC contained in the hull identification number or the HIN, as explained in the FAQ Anwer #2, "Q2: Where is the Hull Identification Number?"
