Tow arch

I have a 1992 Montauk 17 that I'm looking to install a transom/deck mounted tow arch. A friend has one on his 210 from the factory and it looks great but I can't seem to find one for my size boat. Basically use would be to tow in my daughter's sailing team after regattas and the occasional tube. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would strongly consider using a Turbo Swing.

It bolts to the motor/transom. Less work, less holes in the boat, easily removeable.

Phil - do you have one of those Turbo Swings? Looks like a great option for me as well. I was looking at the Whaler tow arch, but it wouldn't allow me to use the boat cover that I have now. I think this Turbo Swing would.

I don't. I did see a non-whaler in action on Lake Winnipesaukee (NH) and talked to the owner back in the 00's. Smart design, high quality. I like that it only involves drilling an extra set of holes in the transom.

There are a few Whaler owners who have one, one has the twin engine unit.

So all that has to be custom made? Do you think there's an option to simply pay something to do these modifications?

I have the factory tow arch on my 210 Montauk - I think the biggest concern with a putting a tow arch on a classic Montauk is that there will be no place with backing to bolt the tow arch to the deck. I think a turboswing is also the best option.

This turboswing status update was just posted: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3744

I have had a turboswing on my 170 Montauk for eight years and it has performed far above expectations:
