Classic 15-footer Seating

The 15-foot classic Boston Whaler boat is a great hull, but the typical SPORT or SUPER SPORT interior is not very comfortable. To see modifications to the seating in these models is very common. The most common complaint is the thwart seats are too low. In the first models, the thwart seats were located on the molded lip in the hull inwale. Later models installed the thwart seat atop a wooden riser, raising it about 2-inches.
To experiment with alternative seating, remove and preserve the original mahogany or teak 5/4 planks that make the thwart seats. (Nice lumber like those planks will be very expensive to replace today.) Then using some new wood, perhaps some marine plywood, experiment with different seating options.
