Lockeman's Hardware and Boats 100th Year

Postby jimh » Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:12 am

My local Evinrude dealer, Lockeman's Hardware and Boats on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit is celebrating their 100th year in business at the same location. Evinrude recognized this achievement with a nice plaque.

There aren't many outboard engine dealers that have a 100-year history of retail operation, and from the same location. Many aspects of Lockeman's operation are still done the old-fashioned way: honest, reliable, personal service.

That’s incredible. Unfortunately it is rare in today’s business climate

That's fantastic congratulations to Lockeman's!

They were very courteous and helpful to me when I was selling and shipping my E-TEC 90 from New Jersey to a buyer in Michigan. Made the transaction a breeze on my end.

I can certainly see how they have been in business for 100 years based on my experience with them.

Great to see old fashioned service still exists and you are lucky to have this business in your area Jim. 100 years is a long time.

I think Lockman's is what a dealer should be. We've been to several continuousWave get-togethers at Lockman's. I can't say enough good things about them. If you're within a couple of hundred miles of them, it's worth the drive to get the care you deserve.
