Here a few pics of hanging the motor. I installed a 5" jackplate to facilitate the 20" shaft. I was very intimidated by this part of the project, but it was really much easier than I thought. I borrowed a drilling jig from my rigger, I definitely recommend using the jig. One could easily be fashioned from plywood. The curve of the transom was a little challenging, I loosely bolted the plate to the hull. Then I cut a piece of ply to flatten the pieces out. I worked out to be a 1/4" gap. I found a piece of aluminum bar, which I had to rip in half, worked perfect. The engine crane is a must as well. Even though it was only a 40 HP I couldn't imagine doing it the hard way.
