1960's Battery Box on SPORT 13

Postby crazydima » Tue Aug 27, 2019 4:06 pm

What did the battery boxes which were used on a c.1960 Sport 13 look like? I am trying to equip my 1960's whaler with a period correct battery box. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Sincerely--Rob

There is no basis to assume that a c.1960 SPORT 13 would have a battery or a battery box. A pull-start outboard would not need a battery. I don't see any indication in the catalogues from that era that Boston Whaler offered a battery box as a standard equipment. In catalogue photographs there are no battery boxes shown in a 13-foot model.

Years later Boston Whaler offered a battery box molded in a Desert Tan color for use on boats with a Desert Tan gel coat interior color. Of course, a c.1960 SPORT 13 would have a blue gel coat interior.
