Source for Marine Cushions, Fire Extinguisher Pocket, Sidelight Lamp

Postby Acseatsri » Sat Apr 25, 2020 8:11 pm

In 2019 I restored a 1982 Montauk. I bought
  • seat cushions,
  • a combined sidelight lamp,
  • a fire extinguisher pocket, and
  • front cushions with rod holders
from Specialty Marine. All were top quality,. The combined sidelight lamp and chock assembly was made with cast 316 stainless steel; the original was made of chrome plated bronze.

For cushions, see the list of recommended vendors for upholstery in the REFERENCE section:

Original Equipment Manufacturers and
Recommended Vendors

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/OEM.html

The recommended vendor is Anderson Manufacturing and Upholstery, in Florida, USA.

For navigation lighting, Boston Whaler has re-introduced the classic combined sidelight lamp and bow chock. I believe it is available as a part from a Boston Whaler dealer. A good Boston Whaler dealer that is known to sell parts and ship to customers is Twin Cities Marine in WIsconsin, USA.

Recessed fire extinguisher pockets are available from several sources. For example, SSI Custom Plastics in Maryland, USA. I think the difficult element is the color of the pocket, if a match to the gel coat color of a console on a Boston Whaler is desired. The pockets are often only molded in a pure white color.
