Coastal Alabama Boating

Postby Jefecinco » Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:09 am

Today is not a wonderful boating day here. We saw no commercial traffic yesterday but enjoyed watching three large (over 75' LOA) East bound yachts getting away from Cristobal. We also saw some foolhardy recreational boats West bound. Perhaps they were heading home to ramps or slips on Mobile Bay. There is a 30ish foot sail boat moored in a popular hurricane hole across the waterway. We saw their mast rocking back and forth even in their very protected water.

I was on Dauphin Island, Al. this weekend for our annual trout invitational. A bit windy but fishable on the north side until late yesterday afternoon. Today is a different story.
