On Deck Fuel Tank for 1994 Outrage 19

Postby Tomcatsmith » Sat Oct 31, 2020 7:28 am

After 26-years the fuel tank [on a 1994 OUTRAGE 19] has developed a hole. I can’t stand the thought of cutting the deck. The Fall is peak fishing time on the Georgia coast. I plan to wait until Winter to begin the fuel tank repair. A local aluminum fabricator can build a tank to fit in front of the console in the bilge access for $700. I am searching for a temporary substitute [to use while I wait to get] a tank replacement.

With the 2014 Suzuki 150-HP engine, I never run the [1994 OUTRAGE 19] more than 30-miles on any trip, and 10-miles is more typical. I would like to find an on-deck fuel tank to slip in the area beneath the seat forward of the console. There is an opening of 11 x 22-inches.

Give me a suggestion for an on-deck fuel tank that will fit into an 11 x 22-inch opening.

I don't think you will be able to fit a fuel tank into the 11 x 22 space unless it is just a 6-gallon portable tank. The Moeller 24-gallon white on-deck fuel tank might be a more permanent "temporary" solution. See

You'd have to install the 24-gallon tank in the stern. This tank is a popular model for Boston Whaler boats, and you could probably sell it later when you get around to replacing the below-deck fuel tank.
