1990 OUTRAGE 19 Purchase

Hey Everybody. I just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself and my new Boston Whaler boat.
ABOUT ME
I currently reside in Newport, Rhode Island. I grew up on the Connecticut shoreline with an early c.1980 MONTAUK 17. I've mostly been sailing in recent years, but I love angling for stripers around Newport. I'd say I'm mechanically inclined, but don't have any experience working on boats besides doing bottom painting during a summer when I was 16-years-old. I am happy to be here on this forum and ecstatic to be a Boston Whaler boat owner again.
ABOUT THE BOAT
I recently purchased a 1990 19 Outrage with a 1998 Johnson 150--the price was right. The hull seems like it's in good shape for 30-years-old. The gel coat may need work, but [there are] no soft spots (that my non-expert buddy could find via the tap method). Electricals, the lamps, and the VHF Marine Band radio work.
ABOUT THE ENGINE
The 1998 Johnson 150 engine needs some unspecified work according to previous owner. It ran this summer when it was in the water, but stopped running at the end of summer. Right now, I'm working on finding an outboard mechanic to take a look at the engine to see if it's worth fixing or if I'll need to re-power over the winter. Not an easy proposition this time of year since they all seem swamped with winterizations.
After the engine is repaired or replaced, I will look at other projects.
