Black Top Legend: 170 MONTAUK at Haulover Inlet

Postby macfam » Mon Nov 23, 2020 10:18 am

To see the 170 MONTAUK known as BLACK TOP LEGEND entering Haulover inlet in heavy seas, watch

https://youtu.be/oaZe7FBuV5Q?t=21

ASIDE: The 170 Montauk with a Mercury 90 need not bow to anyone. How often do you hear how Boston Whaler boats are “over-priced”? Or you’re just paying “for the name.”. Or Boston Whaler boats “aren’t well-built anymore.”

Very entertaining. Thank you. Consider posting the video on those discussion group threads often featuring unwarranted criticism of Boston Whaler boats. A favorite negative comment is, "Those boats will beat your fillings out" or "They are no good in a chop or worse." These bashers are heard from [almost] daily.

I wonder if [BLACK TOP LEGEND] would take a passenger or two. I would like to ride along with him, however my back might not agree. He is definitely one with his boat as he skims along.

[This post contained long instructions about searching, perhaps intended to locate these two recordings

https://youtu.be/rnIuGL4EG1U?t=146

and one just mentioned this week in another thread

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikj34Ay8UTg

They both show the boat known as BLACK TOP LEGEND operating at Haulover inlet with another crew aboard.

In general, posts that instruct others how to search for something would be much better replaced by the poster doing the search and giving the URL to the resource that the poster intended to be found. The notion that an answer can be located in the results of a search is really inherent in any inquiry.--Moderator]
