Reviews by members have been mixed on Specialty Marine products.

My opinion is you get what you pay for. Quality Boston Whaler replacement parts are very expensive but last a long time.

In c.2015 I bought a Bimini top from Wm. J. Mills & Co. (for our 2008 150 MONTAUK). The price was not small but the quality was first class. I also bought a helm cover and a helm seat cover; again, the quality was first class.

I have no regrets about buying Wm. J. Mills & Co. products. After seven years of use they look like new; they have has stood up very well.

You get what you pay for, and that is why I’ve owned five Boston Whaler boats.

My two Boston Whaler boats have full mooring covers and Bimini tops made by Wm. J. Mills & Co, and they are worth every cent.

When mice ate holes in the Bimini for my Outrage, I sent photographs of the top to Wm. J. Mills & Co. They said the the damaged top wasn’t their top, but I could send it to them and they'd make a new one. I took their suggestion; the custom top they made fit perfectly.

The original Mills mooring cover on my Outrage lasted over 20 years. I sent the mooring cover to Wm. J. Mills & Co. They patched it up, and I squeaked out a few more year of use from it. I bought a new Wm. J. Mills & Co mooring cover last year.

The Wm. J. Mills & Co mooring cover on my 110 SPORT is at 15-years-old and going strong.

These mooring covers keep the boats clean all year long.

Specialty Marine does not have a good reputation and has put out some shoddy product, however my experience on their Bimini top was positive and this was about eight years ago--a lot could have changed.

I purchased this Bimini top for my 13-foot Boston Whaler to stay out of the sun. The hardware and tubing was 316 stainless and did not exhibit any rust stains when used on saltwater. The canvas was a nicely made and the material was similar to Sunbrella tops I've had before on other boats.

I used this Bimini top for two years before deciding that it was too much trouble on such a small boat, and I sold it to another Boston Whaler boat owner.

My experience was positive, and the unit I purchased was a quality unit, but that was many years ago and things change.

Thank you all for your responses.

[I] purchased [a Bimini top for my Boston Whaler boat] through the local Boston Whaler dealer.

[I am] keeping [my Boston Whaler boat to have] all original [accessories].
