WTB: Late '80s Outrage 18

Postby Spinnaker » Mon Jul 18, 2016 11:30 am

Looking to buy a 1986-90 Outrage 18 in great shape and as close to OEM as possible. (I'm sure I'm not the only one.) I am located in southern Connecticut and willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right boat. Among other options, I'm particularly keen on the reversible pilot seat, teak gunwales, and the rare pulpit. Any tips/leads are appreciated. Feel free to PM or email me with pictures and details.

I have a 1989 Outrage 18 with a 2008 Etec 150. All original and in good condition, original gel coat & no bottom paint. The motor has less than 200 hours and runs flawlessly, comes with a double axle galvanized trailer. It has always been stored in a boat shed/barn.

Actually only thing not original is the leaning post that was installed (looks like OEM) when the 2 captain's chairs were removed. Teak is in great shape too. I have 3 Whalers and don't use this Outrage as often as I would like since I fish solo a lot and like the ease of the classic Montauk more.

I can't figure out how to post pictures here.

Where are you located Spinaker?

Have you found one yet? Mine is for sale locally (Guilford, CT) - I haven't posted online yet. Let us know if you've had any luck.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum but have owned a 13 Boston Whaler for many years before as a kid. I am looking to purchase a 18 Outrage for my son and I to work on together for a fun family boat. I am not looking for a project boat but rather one that needs more cleaning and waxing that has a dry hull and not many stress cracks and straight hull sides. Power does not have to be new but reliable would be a big plus. I understand that at the age of the boat many things can and will go wrong, it is not a big deal as I have built and rebuilt many boats, I am just looking for something that is more turn key than a project, so if you have one or know of a late 80's whaler that fits this bill please drop me a pm. I am a cash buyer and ready to move on the right boat.
I live in southern New England and willing to travel within reason.
Thank you.
