Appraisal: 1984 Outrage 22

Postby PATXBill » Sun Oct 16, 2016 3:51 pm

Long time lurker and huge fan of continuousWave. I am reluctantly thinking of putting my 1984 Outrage 22 up for sale. Specifications:
1984 Outrage 22 center console
1987 Evinrude 225
Standard console
128 gallon fuel tank
Batteries moved to console
Fuel tank cover pulled and re-cored in 2006
Fuel tank pressure-tested as OK.
1992 Magnum galvanized trailer
Disc brakes on both axles
Axles replaced over the past 5 years.
Mills mooring cover
Mills bimini top
Minnkota 101 lb thrust trolling motor
Optimax batteries and charger in cooler

No bottom paint
2nd owner

I realize with older power, it's essentially a hull-only value (plus workable trailer). The boat is solid, but needs some updating. Debating whether to take on the project of updating or simply come to grips with age and let go of the boat-owning phase of life.

If I do put it up for sale, I'm thinking $10,000. I don't think I could bring myself to part with it for less. Am I in the ballpark? What say you?

Photos would help give a true idea of condition for an exact price and geographic location can also be a big factor as well when it comes to pricing.

Do you have any photos you could share?

Thanks Jeff. I realize these appraisal requests are inexact, and that sales prices are highly variable. I love the boat--probably too much--and am trying to decide whether I give it a good re-fit and hang on to it, or let it go now to someone else with the drive to do the work.

I will get some new pictures up when boat gets back in driveway and I give it a washing. It's getting some pre-winter maintenance right now--not winterizing yet, would like to fish through November.

Boat currently in central PA. Was a TX/LA gulf-coast boat until mid 2006, when I moved back to PA. It's seen duty in the Gulf, TX/LA bays, PA lakes/rivers, Lake Erie, Chesapeake Bay, and Atlantic. Not a garage queen by any means, but not a beater, either.

Bill,

When you take some photos, I would love to see them. Can you email them to: jrohlfing@gmail.com?

Depending on how the boat looks, 10 could be a fair price...or maybe low. Seeing it would help a lot.
