1978 15 Sport -Sold

1978 Boston Whaler Sport 15, (15’3”) in Very Good Condition. (photos below) It was literally a "barn find", All original. All mahogany seats, side-boards, hatch cover, and console stripped, sanded and refinished with 5 coats of Helmsman Polyurethane Varnish. Has the optional wraparound helm seat & back rail, and stainless steel Destroyer Wheel. NOTE: The photo shows a 40 HP Mercury outboard which is being replaced with a 1988 Mercury Mariner 50 HP 2-stroke outboard with Trim & Tilt. This engine has been completely gone over at MW Marine, and all components are either new, or functioning perfectly. The boat has the normal amount of dings, scrapes for a 40-year-old boat, but no serious stuff. The rails and all hardware are original and in fine shape. The original bow light has a new LED bulb installed, and the stern light brackets exist, but the stern light was missing. The boat is docked here at Golden Lake, and I use it regularly. It can be test-run if desired.
The trailer is somewhat rusty, but entirely functional. And can be set up to be a tilt version if desired. The boat is completely equipped and water-ready. It is docked and can be seen and tested on Golden Lake.
I have researched this model and comparables, and found the pricing to be from $6400 to over $8,000 - most of which were lesser models or have been modified in some way. I am asking $5,300. More photos can be seen at http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/boa/6178788918.html

I have found a replacement boat, and am anxious to sell my 15 Sport. The price is reduced to $5,300. I would consider selling the boat and trailer without the motor for $4,500.00.

Seriously? Is the market that bad? Nobody's commented that I'm asking too much...
