Pictures (or link) say a thousand words.
What is the power OB/Motor age, hours, etc. Where is it located, used in salt or fresh water. What is included? etc. etc.
Even when there are pictures and all other info is supplied it is hard to appraise over the internet.
If you want to get a value get a certified vessel appraiser in your area to check it over.

A 1969 SAKONNET in truly excellent condition ought to fetch several thousand dollars. Any accessories included, such as a trailer, an outboard engine, canvas, covers, typical gear like anchors, lines, fenders, coolers and so on, and up-to-date electronics will add more value. The value of the total package could easily be thousands of dollars more than the value of just the boat.

Everything depends on condition and history of all the items in the package. The older 16-foot non-smirk hull and the beautiful mahogany may appear to certain buyers, but may not appeal to others. Old 1960's technology engines might appeal to some, but not to others. Excellent canvas and covers appeal to everyone. Out-of-date electronics have little value, perhaps even negative value, as they will need to be removed and replaced.

The seller's expectations are also an influence on price. A widow who wants "that old boat" out of the garage may be more flexible on the selling price than a enthusiastic Boston Whaler collector who thinks he has a museum piece for sale.

I just saw an ad for a similar vintage Nauset in excellent condition, recently restored wood, very clean hull, trailer etc. with a 70 hp 2-stroke that appeared to be in excellent condition. The asking price is $12k, in New England. That may be the higher end of the market, but your boat certainly sounds like one a collector or serious Whaler enthusiast would want to own. The only real way to know is to list it for sale. If your price is too high, you won't get any bites, and can always reduce it. December is a tough time to sell a boat, and you would certainly get more if you list it in the spring.

I sold one with a similar description for $7,800 with the primary difference a complete new paint job and rub rail. One could argue I hurt the value with the paint vs. original gel coat. I have another one of similar description but a 1970 model year that I would gladly sell for $5,000. The 1970 needs paint or gel coat. Both have older but little used engines with solid compression, etc. Both in Wisconsin. Contact Mark at Beacon Marine (Sister Bay, WI) as he loves to talk about Whaler values on a cold Wisconsin day and routinely has the opportunity to buy or not buy older models with limited use. With your description I would list it at $9,500 with good pictures. Good luck.
