There can be no appraisal of a 1987 170 MONTAUK because there is no such model. Misrepresentation of the model of Boston Whaler boat is a sign that the seller is not knowledgeable, and raises suspicion in buyers.

Appraisals are highly dependent on conditions and other components included in a package deal.

If you have a 1987 MONTAUK 17 with an older two-stroke-power-cycle engine and trailer, the value could be between $4,000 and $15,000.

The area the boat is located, the time of year, and the freedom from awful modifications of the original components all affect the value.

Ditto with what Jim said. Pics usually help too.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).
