For sale is a mint condition Montauk with a 90 HP Mercury with approximately 40 hours on it. The boat is well appointed with factory and aftermarket extras, to include a Bimini top, cockpit and full boat covers, and more. See list below.

The Montauk 170 is an exceptional boat for south Florida and the Keys, with an extremely shallow draft, enabling skinny water use. The boat is solid, dependable, and extraordinarily safe; after all, it IS a Boston Whaler.

Despite its handy size, it can carry more people than you’d guess, and in comfort; the full bow cushion is perfect for sunbathing or reading, if fishing is not your style. The bow and side railings provide an added level of security for children, older individuals, or the infirm.

I’ve equipped the vessel with a top of the line marine VHF radio for safety. A quick press of the distress button, and the vessel’s description and GPS location are immediately broadcast to the U.S. Coast Guard and other nearby boaters. I’ve installed this unit out of the way under the helm, and added a command microphone next to the throttle for easy access. This microphone, though an extra expense, allows full operation of the radio, to include distress calls, while keeping the main radio body out of the way, thereby keeping the helm free of clutter.

I’ve also equipped the vessel with a high end Lowrance Elite 9 Ti chartplotter/GPS/fish finder unit. This excellent unit is mounted on a robust RAM mount, to adjust the positioning to your liking, whether you prefer to stand or sit at the helm. Additionally, I’ve installed Florida Marine Tracks navigational software in the unit. This software is, without a doubt, the BEST navigational software on the market for Florida. Do the research, and you’ll agree. It wasn’t inexpensive, at $450, but it’s worth every penny.

I’ve replaced the two small 6-gallon fuel tanks with a large 24-gallon tank. This, combined with the extremely low fuel consumption, gives you more range than you’ll need, and won’t leave you worrying about fuel status. You also won’t have to pay a ton of money to pull the fuel tank if you should ever have a problem with fuel or the tank, as you would with a fuel tank built into the hull.

The vessel, motor, and trailer are in impeccable condition. They have been well maintained, and are flushed with fresh water and protective solution religiously after each use. We’ve never “beached” the vessel, instead choosing to anchor in shallow water, in an effort to keep the hull pristine, and it shows. You really must see to appreciate the boat. Why pay ridiculous new prices, when you can get what amounts to a new boat at a vastly reduced price.

The list price includes a 2016 Karavan galvanized steel trailer that is made for the boat. This trailer has a folding tongue to assist with fitting the boat and trailer in a garage. It also includes a spare tire and carrier. All trailer lights function like new. The trailer is in superb condition, and is throughly rinsed inside and out immediately after each use.

The following is a list of added equipment and accessories, and their approximate cost when new. These are included at the listed price.
