2005 170 Montauk: Instrument Panel and Switch Replacement

Hello. I am doing a complete detail and refurbishiment on a 2005 170 MONTAUK. I am considering replacing the instrument panel and the rocker switches. [Seeking] advice on sources for these parts and or experience with [their replacement]. Thanks!

There have been several really detailed threads in past years regarding the 170 Montauk dash panel.

While OEM panels can be obtained from a Whaler dealer, here is one thread showing a interesting redesign. BTW, My handle back then was Casco Bay Outrage.

The Whaler part number for the blank panel with switches is 1848341.
The Whaler part number for the panel with switches and analog gauges is 1837738.

I don't recommend trying to fabricate your own instrument panel if you are planning to use rocker switches with the usual Contura style. Those switches mount by snapping into a rectangular hole. The hole cut-out must be to rather precise dimensions for the spring clips to hold the switch in place. Those cut-outs are hard to make by hand.
