I am researching information to install a Livewell leaning post in my 17 Outrage. My thoughts are to have a intake through the fish box near the transom. Now for my overflow drain: would that also have to exit through a additional thru-hull in the fish box?
That would make a total of three thru-hulls in the fish box. I could possibly run a hose thru the tunnel in the starboard rear seat and exit thru the transom. It would help if someone could advise me where pump, intake ,and drain were located in the optional livewell leaning post in the 17 Outrage II. Thanks--Stoney

Re: 1998 17 Outrage II livewell plumbing
I have the PDF files for all the parts and layouts for the 17. Send me an email address and I'll forward them to you. They inlcude the factory live well files.
Thanks,

Re: 1998 17 Outrage II Livewell Plumbing
I have finally purchased a fiberglass livewell to replace pilot seat in my 1998 17 outrage. I will feed the livewell thru the small tunnel at the front of the fish box. I plan on using a bronze scoop strainer, a shut off valve, and a 1100-GPH Piranha-brand pump. The drain is my next hurdle to get over.
If I manage to put the drain in the floor of the fish box,I am not certain the livewell will drain properly. My plan is to replenish the water
in the livewell and get adequate draining.
The 17 OUTRAGE II had a option for a leaning post livewell. A picture of drain location might help my project. I have seen parts list schematics and there is not enough detail to help. The factory leaning post livewell does install the pump in the livewell, and there is a valve to change pump discharge to a raw water washdown.

Re: 1998 17 Outrage II Livewell Plumbing
I have finished the install of a fiberglass 40 gallon livewell in my 1998 Outrage II.
I ran inch and a half hose for the drain and inch and a eighth hose for the feed with
a 1100 gph shurflo pump pushing the water.
I ended up installing a bronze drain thru-hull in the rear fish box along side the bilge
pump and the just behind the bronze scoop thru-hull.
My concern for the drain was not a concern. It can be drained fully with either the pickup
or the drain.
Other than the added weight, I am extremely satisfied with the baitwell.
