Today, I took out my 1991 Outrage 17 and was a little disappointed [how] the Yamaha 115-HP engine was performing. The Yamaha 115-HP engine just would not stay [at] idle. I would have to choke it every time to get it going. Any suggestions where to start [the repair]?

I don't understand the situation with the Yamaha 115-HP engine. Are you saying it is hard to start?
Or, are you saying that once it starts it accelerates to a higher speed than the usual idle?

Assuming that the motor is the same era as the hull, what sort of yearly service work do you have done to the motor? While Yamaha's are pretty reliable, they do need service.
