[W]hile [removing the gear case of a 2005 Mercury 50-HP two-stroke-power-cycle outboard engine], I disconnected the shift shaft coupler. [T]he linkage under the powerhead broke. I've removed the lower carburetor, but [there is] not enough room to remove the bolts that hold the assembly.
Do I have to remove the powerhead to gain access the linkage and repair this?
Any help on this will be much appreciated
